Edgewise

Edgewise

Directed by Sam Felman

Written by Nate Raven

A lonely man tries to share the most exciting news he's ever received with friends and family, if only they would let him get a word in edgewise.

Statement from Director Sam Felman

Nate Raven and I first worked together on Abaddon the Destroyer (2024), where his ability to memorize not just his lines but the exact timing of his off-camera co-stars blew me away. When he showed me his script for Edgewise—a film where his character never speaks because he can’t get a word in edgewise—I knew we could pull it off because of him.
We filmed 15 pages across 10 locations in two days (no pickups), with a massive cast and an animal on set. Due to budget constraints, I doubled as director and production designer. The film is essentially a string of monologues, but with Nate's writing and hilarious reactions, our cast made every scene feel natural and dynamic.
